Tottenham will rival Arsenal in a move to sign Thomas Lemar from Atletico Madrid in January.
According to Foot Mercato, as cited on the Mirror, Jose Mourinho’s men are hoping to sign the player on loan this month.
The report claims that Arsenal’s London rivals don’t have the funds to complete a permanent deal for Lemar in the coming weeks.
He has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, with Atletico keen to offload the player who has failed to make an impact in La Liga this season.

Arsenal shouldn’t be too worried about the prospect of Tottenham trying to sign the player on loan.
Atletico Madrid would surely prefer the idea of a permanent move and if the offer of one is on the table, you can imagine that they’d prefer to cash in on him rather than send him elsewhere on loan.
The only concern that Arsenal may have is if Lemar is the right profile of player that will fit in under Mikel Arteta. Similarly to Diego Simeone, Arteta has shown just how high his demands are going to be at the Emirates.
Lemar has previously struggled as part of a similar environment in Madrid, so he’d have to prove he’s ready to fight for the new Arsenal boss.
