Arsenal fans were quick to heap praise on Ainsley Maitland-Niles following his performance in the 2-0 win over Manchester United on New Year’s Day.
First-half goals from club-record signing Nicolas Pepe and central defender Sokratis were enough to earn Mikel Arteta his first win as manager, with many Gunners stars coming in for praise.

Maitland-Niles turned out at right-back under the Spaniard for the third consecutive game and helped keep United’s exciting attack out at the Emirates.
Arsenal fan @PatrickTimmons1 shared this tweet regarding the 22-year-old, labelling his display as ‘faultless’.

Maitland-Niles has been slotting in at right-back for large parts of the season due to Hector Bellerin’s injury troubles, and Bellerin may find it difficult to break back into the side if the Englishman continues his solid form.
His tireless work rate and ability to join in with the attack have seen him shine under Arteta, who appears to already be getting the best out of him in North London.
