Arsenal left it late but managed to come back from 2-1 down to beat Vitoria SC 3-2 and stay top of their Europa League group.
The Gunners were twice behind in the game before a Nicolas Pepe double in the last 10 minutes ensured that they got the three points.
Marcus Edwards and Bruno Duarte were the scorers for the away side, while Gabrielle Martinelli also netted for the home side.
After a fast start from the Portuguese side, they took the lead in the eighth minute when Garcia found Edwards with a good ball. The latter then turned away from Kieran Tierney to score through the goalkeeper’s legs.
Arsenal equalised in the 32nd minute when Tierney put in a sumptuous cross for Martinelli to head in.
However, Vitoria scored again four minutes later when Ainsley Maitland-Niles lost the ball allowing Davidson to have a shot and hit the far post. Duarte was there to power the rebound home.
Then, in the 80th minute, Pepe scored the first of his two beautiful free-kicks. 12 minutes later, he completed the come back with another fantastic free-kick.
All in all, a good win for Arsenal with a resurgent performance from their record signing. However, there are things that needs working out.
