Arsenal continued their good start in the Europa League by beating Standard Liege 4-0 at the Emirates stadium and consolidating their position at the top of their group.
Gabrielle Martinelli was at the double, whilst Joe Willock and Dani Ceballos also scored to mark a comfortable night for the Gunners.
After a fast start to the game, Unai Emery’s men took the lead in the 13th minute, when Martinelli stooped to get his header on target following a good cross from Kieran Tierney.
Three minutes later, the aforementioned scorer made it 2-0 for the home side with an unstoppable curling effort from 12 yards out.
It was 3-0 in the 22nd minute when a Reiss Nelson shot deflected into the path of Willock, who just had to roll the ball past the keeper from few yards out.
The fourth goal came in the second half around the hour mark, when Ainsley Maitland-Niles picks out Martinelli in the box. The latter then dinked the ball over the keeper for Ceballos to finish.
All in all, a commanding performance from Arsenal and the scoreline is proof of that.
