Mesut Ozil’s future at Arsenal is once again a hot topic of debate. There doesn’t seem to have been a point throughout the 2018/19 season where it hasn’t been.
Arsenal find themselves at a crossroads after yet another disappointing performance from the German in a crucial match.
Unai Emery has always hinted at a lack of trust in Ozil during the key moments and the Gunners are going to be left with a decision to make this summer that could define their squad.

Between them, Ozil and Emery just don’t seem to be compatible. It has been suggested that one of them has to go and the only logical response to that is for it to be Ozil.
The German’s huge wages, said to be in the region of £350,000 a week, are a strain on the club and his departure could allow Emery far more room to manoeuvre in the transfer market.
Finding a potential suitor for the player will not be easy by any means. His huge wage demands are hardly going to make him an affordable option for even the biggest teams around the continent.
Ozil has made just nine goal contributions this season. Nine. A damning stat on the man who is supposed to be Arsenal’s saviour. It is time for the Gunners to cash in and move, although that may be easier said than done.
