Arsenal have offered an update on forward Danny Welbeck’s condition.
The England international suffered a gruesome ankle break against Sporting in the Europa League last week, prompting an outpouring of support for the player from across English football.
The Gunners have today revealed that Welbeck has undergone two successful operations on his inflicted ankle, putting him on the (admittedly long) road to recovery.

A statement on the club website read:
Danny has undergone a second planned operation on his right ankle,
Both procedures went well, without complications. Danny will now recuperate and start his rehabilitation. It’s too early to say how long this will take.
Everyone at the club will now be providing Danny with the best possible treatment and support in order to make him fit again as soon as possible.
An indefinite lay-off for Welbeck will do nothing for Unai Emery’s attacking ranks, and may see fringe players brought into the fold in an increasing regularity.
