Arsene Wenger has revealed that the timing of his resignation at Arsenal after 22 years as boss of the Gunners was not his decision, as quoted by The Mirror.
Wenger spoke to the media prior to the first leg of the Europa League semi-final against Atlético de Madrid, which takes place on Thursday, with the second leg next Thursday at the Wanda Metropolitano in the Spanish capital.
The Frenchman has also said that although there have been many calls for him to resign or for the board to part company with him and hire a new manager, the Arsenal fans who wished him out of a job may not have been a majority over the past few years.

The timing wasn’t really my decision.
For the rest, I have spoken about it already.
When people are unhappy, it isn’t always a majority.
We live in an emotional society where people can express how they feel.
So the French manager didn’t go into much detail about the timing of his resignation from the Emirates with a year left on his contract. But with only two home games left in his Arsenal career, he may get the send-off that 22 years deserves.
