Arsenal have been criticised in recent seasons for their lack of a true defensive midfielder in their side but recently they have been credited with an interest in one of France’s best young talents.
Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato report that both Arsenal and North London rivals Tottenham are interested in signing Lucas Tousart from Lyon in the summer.
Lyon paid just £2.3m to sign Tousart from Valenciennes as a promising 18-year-old back in the summer of 2015 and the France U21 international has established himself as a regular for Lyon, making 42 appearances across all competitions.

20-year-old Tousart is a robust holding midfielder who still has plenty of developing to do, but is already being touted to become a France regular in the not too distant future.
The Ligue 1 club reportedly value Tousart at £22m, which certainly makes him an affordable target for the Gunners if they decide to firm up their interest.
Arsenal are bracing themselves for the departure of Jack Wilshere this summer which would leave them light in midfield, but the addition of Tousart would give them a genuine anchor at the heart of their midfield that they can build from.
