Despite the addition of Sead Kolasinac in the summer, Arsenal have struggled at left-back this season and are reportedly interested in making a defensive addition in the summer.
The Gunners have been named as one of several potential suitors for Bayern Munich defender David Alaba as they look to solve a problem position.
In a recent interview with Austrian outlet Kurier, Alaba admitted that he could see himself taking a different path having achieved everything there is to achieve at Bayern.

I am aware that I one day will have to make the decision, and I still feel great here. But I can also imagine taking a different path, making the next step or seeking a new challenge.
But I leave that open for now. I have goals for this season I want to reach. That’s why there is no place for those thoughts right now.
Alaba has won a number of major honours with Bayern over the last decade following his £135,000 move from Austria Wien as a teenager but is said to be considering a new challenge at this point in his career.
Both Barcelona and Real Madrid are said to be leading the race for the 25-year-old but Arsenal are also keeping tabs on his situation, as are Manchester United and Liverpool.
