Pleguezuelo has been at Arsenal his whole senior career, since joining the youth system as a 16-year-old, after formerly being in the academies of Atletico de Madrid and FC Barcelona.
He was made captain of the Arsenal U21 side for 2015-16, when the team won the Premier League 2 Play-Offs.
Since then, he has had a taste of the Spanish Second Division, after going out on loan last season at Mallorca, where he made 15 league appearances.

He features mainly as a centre back, but can also play at right back and as a central defensive midfielder. He is known for his pace, clearances and personal strength in his own half.
Still at a youthful age of 20, and with Arsenal having some defensive issues, this move could be great as it could get him the game time needed to fight for his place in the future starting XI at Arsenal.
However, maybe now is the time to give the youngsters a chance, especially in the defensive areas of the pitch, such as Rob Holding playing more and Pleguezuelo featuring for the first time for the Gunners’ first team.
But he has gone now, it will be seen how well he does in Spain and will be decided in the summer if he will be more of a regular starter for Arsenal.
