Wenger has spoken about the upcoming North London derby and the faith that he has in record summer signing Alexandre Lacazette.
With the Frenchman not starting the two arguably biggest games of the season so far, at Anfield and the Etihad, there was some speculation that he would not start this Saturday.
And there is no bigger game than the one this weekend, the North London derby. Wenger was asked if Lacazette would start on Saturday afternoon.
The Arsenal manager replied (via FourFourTwo):
The decision is not made yet, but it is a possibility.
I think it’s only Man City away he didn’t start (recently).
On the other side of North London, Wenger has said that he is not scared of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
Kane withdrew from England’s two 0-0 draws with Germany and Brazil, along with club teammate Dele Alli, but will be back for Saturday’s clash at the Emirates.
Wenger said (via FourFourTwo):
We have no fear, we are focused on finding our strong points and expressing them.
Kane has scored in all five of his Premier League North London derbies, none of which Tottenham have lost, with Arsenal last beating Spurs in the league in March 2014, and not beating their arch-rivals at home since September 2013.
Although Lee Dixon has said that he does not think this Arsenal squad are tough enough to face Pochettino’s men, it’s derby day. Form is out of the window. It just has to be seen is Arsenal’s record signing will start or will be benched for another big game.
