Arsenal have reportedly failed to agree a deal with Monaco for Thomas Lemar, meaning Alexis Sanchez will remain at the Emirates.
The Guardian believe that Arsenal have run out of time to agree a deal with Lemar, as the Frenchman will feature for his country this evening.
Monaco wanted a fee in the region of 100 million euros for Lemar, which Arsenal said they were willing to pay, however they do not have enough time to complete the signing.
This means that Chilean star Alexis Sanchez will remain an Arsenal player, despite Manchester City’s advances with bids in the region of £60m.

However, had a deal been agreed for Lemar, the Gunners would have been very likely to sell Sanchez to Manchester City.
So Lemar featuring in tonight’s World Cup Qualifier vs Holland has blocked Arsenal’s move, despite them making a £92m bid in the last hour.
The 23-year-old has also been linked with a move to Liverpool, with his future still very unclear, but it is now very unlikely he will become Arsenal’s record signing.
