According to Don Balon, Marco Asensio is a target for Arsenal as they want to carry on spending big to try and return to the Champions League.
Unlike in recent years, Arsenal are spending big this transfer window which the fans have been crying out for and the recent big money move for The Gunners could be Marco Asensio of Real Madrid, but Madrid did turn down an offer of £42m from Liverpool already this summer.
Arsenal have already signed Alexandre Lacazette for £52m as well as Sead Kolasinac from Schalke on a free transfer but they do want to spend more to try and make a return to the top four.

Asensio had a great first season at Real Madrid, making 38 appearances (19 as a substitute), scoring 10 and assisting four in all competitions in the 2016/17 season which led Liverpool to spark interest in him, but, a £42m offer was rejected in April and since then, he scored in the Champions League final and shone in the U21 European Championship, making his price even higher.
Asensio could be worth it though, with Alexis Sanchez’s future in doubt, he can be a current and future replacement for the Chilean superstar.
