Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla will reportedly not play for Arsenal again until April of next year, according to the Daily Express.
Cazorla has not featured for Arsenal since their 6-0 thrashing of Ludogorets in the Champions League back in October.
The Spaniard limped off with an Achilles injury which kept him on the sidelines for the remainder of the season and resulted in surgery on several occasions.
The 32-year-old is likely not to feature again for Arsenal if these latest reports are to be believed and a potential injury setback would surely ensure he would not be fit to play until the summer of 2018.
Cazorla was instrumental in Arsenal’s strong early season form and thus it was no surprise his absence coincided with a severe dip in form which saw The Gunners eventually finish outside the Champions League places for the first time under Arsene Wenger.
Whether Wenger will go into the transfer market to replace Cazorla remains to be seen.
