Arsenal’s ‘reward’ for finishing top of their Champions League group is another two-legged knockout tie with German champions Bayern Munich.
The Gunners got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Hull City at the weekend but in truth, they didn’t play very well and will need to be much better on Wednesday evening.
Despite a couple of blips in October and November, Bayern are now back to their best. They are unbeaten in 12 games, dating back to November and have only drawn one of those 12 matches.
Arsene Wenger will be all too aware of the pressure on his side to perform as they simply can’t keep getting knocked out of the Champions League every time they meet a good side.
He’ll be looking to take a positive result back to the Emirates for the second leg in a couple of week’s time, and here’s the starting XI I think he’ll pick as he looks to take a lead home from Germany:
