Arsenal have joined Liverpool in making a ‘concrete approach’ to French side AS Monaco for their midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.
According to French media outlet, Le 10 Sport, the dynamic midfielder, who has previously been linked with moves to Manchester United and Chelsea, is now a target for the aforementioned due.
The queuing Premier League clubs could be forced to wait until the summer to conclude any proposed deals, with the French side unwilling to sell during the current January transfer window.
Bakayoko, who is predominantly a defensive midfielder has attracted plenty of interest from around Europe following a string of impressive performances in Ligue 1 and in the Champions League. The Frenchman, who stands at 6ft tall is a ‘no-nonsense’ midfielder, who is strong in tackle.
The 22-year-old has been ever present in the Monaco side that sit second in the Ligue 1 table. They sit two points behind Nice as they aim to beat Paris Saint-Germain to the French title.
