As we go into the nervous November stretch, it’s time to look back at Arsenal’s season thus far – more specifically, the players and how they have performed.
Two points off the top, top of the Champions League group and through to the Quarter Final of the League Cup, the season has started extremely strongly, but it took a few injuries to make it happen.
The great centre back crisis of 2016 was remedied through the signing of German Shokrodan Mustafi, who has proven to be a revelation thus far.
Meanwhile, the injuries to Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck meant an unconventional move of Alexis Sanchez from the wing to striker, and thus a huge tactical change, a more mobile front three, as opposed to a target man and two wingers, has upgraded the offence massively.
This has been compounded with individual brilliance, which helps win matches on its own – and naturally, some players haven’t quite hit the heights of previous seasons.
