FC Basel was the opponent Arsenal had to face in the second round of the group stage of the Champions League. Basel hadn’t lost to an English side in the Champions League since 2002, so it promised to be a tough game for Arsenal.
The first half looked a lot like the first half against Chelsea of last weekend as Arsenal dominated and created a lot of chances.
The best player on the pitch in the first half was without a doubt Theo Walcott. He scored two great goals and was everywhere.
The second half was also a lot like the one against Chelsea.
Arsenal didn’t have to attack anymore and Basel looked like they had given up. The game ended 2-0 to Arsenal, to leave the Gunners with four points from two Champions League games.
