The transfer saga of Shkodran Mustafi to Arsenal has certainly had some ups and downs. At one stage, it looked like the deal was off as Valencia has apparently demanded £50million.
But now, David Ornstein, one of the most reliable sources when it comes to Arsenal, has reported that the German centre-back is close to joining Arsenal for £35million

The signing of a defender may prove crucial for Arsenal’s ambitions to win the title, especially when you consider that at the moment, they only have three fit centre-backs, in Laurent Koscielny, Rob Holding, and Calum Chambers, with the two Englishmen only being 20 and 21 years old respectively.
Of course, they also have Gabriel Paulista and Per Mertesacker, who are both out with an injury, but, in my opinion, these players just aren’t good enough to compete for the Premier League title.

Mustafi is good at tackling, winning aerial duels and intercepting the ball. Combine that with good strength and you’ll have a good defender to play alongside Arsenal star Laurent Koscielny.
