After the impenetrable, resolute and successful George Graham years, Arsenal brought in an unknown French manager Arsene Wenger – a year after the Bruce Rioch debacle. Orginally unkown to many fans, the Frenchman, would go on to revolutionize the club.
After bringing in players such as Emmanuel Petit and Marc Overmars, Wenger had created a squad capable of winning the title. Arsenal went on to win the League and FA Cup Double in the 1997/98 season, only the second time in the club’s history, after winning the Double in the 1970/71 season.
In 38 games, Wenger’s side managed to lose only 6 times, to finish one point above rivals Manchester United, with 78 points.
All of the players have moved on with their life. Only three of the players are still playing professional football. Meanwhile, the others have found other jobs or are enjoying life after retirement.
Let’s take a look at the Double winning side and where they are now.
