Arsenal are interested in Barcelona central midfielder Sergi Samper, who is also on the radar of Manchester City.
The Spanish midfielder has two seasons left on his current contract, which has a buyout clause of just £9m and while Barcelona are looking to extend the 21-year-old’s deal, it’s believed that Samper is concerned about game time and could look for a move away.

Due to the lack of guarantee for starting time, Samper has stalled on contract talks, which Spanish news outlet Fichajes report has led to both the north London side and Manchester City to be monitoring the situation.
Samper is identified as a potential long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets but with the midfielder still just 27-years-old, he could have a long wait until he becomes a regular in the first-team.

With Samper available for just £9m, incoming City boss Pep Guardiola could look to prise away the midfielder as he did with Thiago Alcantara when he joined Bayern Munich.
