Arsenal legend Robert Pires has urged Arsenal to sign Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama.
In a recent interview during his time in Kenya, the ex-Gunner praised the Tottenham Hotspur target, saying that he hopes he can come to Arsenal.
He [Wanyama] is a very good ambassador of Kenyan football and has done well in Southampton but I hope he signs for Arsenal in the future.
Pires did, however, note that Wanyama’s lack of goals is holding him back.
I think he needs to score more goals because then he will be world-class material.

Wanyama joined Southampton from Celtic in 2013, and has gone on to become one of the most sought after players for England’s largest clubs. While his statistics do not seem very impressive at first glance, three goals and one assist in his time at Saints, it is the impact he has defensively that has caught the eyes of many.
The Kenyan was linked with a move away from St. Mary’s in the summer, and is expected to reject offers of a new contract in order to force his departure. His contract will expire in the summer, meaning he is free to talk to clubs during the January transfer window.
