Arsenal are close to signing Dynamo Moscow’s Russian striker Aleksandr Kokorin for €19m, according to reports in Russia.

A fee for the forward isn’t mentioned but Kokorin has a £13.8m release clause and his agent has already spoken about interest in his client from Arsenal rivals Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal’s mediocre start to the season continued after they were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Liverpool on Monday night, fuelling the need for a striker even more, and it was the Gunners’ fifth game in six matches where they hadn’t scored a goal at home.

Petr Cech has been the only major acquisition this summer, signing from Chelsea, and his performance proved vital as he made two crucial saves to deny Liverpool on Monday night, but it isn’t enough if Arsenal are to win the league title this season.
Aleksandr Kokorin is 24-years-old, scored10 goals in 39 for Dynamo Moscow last season and is a full international for his native Russia, making 32 appearances.
